New visuals of Skoda Octavia 2020, which were introduced in November last year and expected with great interest, were published. The model of Skoda, which holds the highest number of sales records, appeared again with liftback and station wagon bodywork options.
Skoda, which has to stop its production due to Corona virus, takes various steps not to forget 2020 Octavia. Let’s examine the technical details of Octavia, which is the widest model in its class with its new generation engine and hardware options.
Developed on the MQB platform of the Volkswagen group, the 2020 Octavia made major changes to the steering wheel compared to its previous generation. When we switch to the multimedia screen right next to us, the 8 or 10 inch infotainment system, which changes according to the hardware, welcomes us. The 10.25-inch driver display behind the two-spoke steering wheel is also designed to maximize the car’s experience.
2020 Skoda Octavia engine options
Octavia, which can produce 110 horsepower with the 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine in the base model, also offers hybrid options to customers. Skoda’s 1.5-liter hybrid powered engine, called e-TEC, can produce 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. In the version with the same engine that uses compressed natural gas, the version that can produce 130 horsepower and 200 Nm torque is also called G-TEC. The gasoline end engine option is also a 2.0-liter four-cylinder power unit. This unit produces 190 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, allowing the 2020 Octavia to go from 0 to 100 kilometers in 6.9 seconds.
Skoda did not give up diesel engine options in 2020 Octavia models. Offering 3 different engine options of 2.0 liters, Octavia will be able to produce 116, 150 and 200 horsepower.
If we look at the details of the hybrid model, the hybrid Octavia, which will come with the 1.4 liter engine, will be able to produce 204 horsepower and 350 Nm torque. Octavia with this unit uses a 6-speed DSG transmission for power transmission. Offering an electric range of 55 kilometers, the Octavia hybrid has 13 kWh batteries.
If we take a look at the luggage capacity, Octavia maintains to be the leader of its class with a luggage volume of 640 liters in the Combi version and 600 liters in the standard version.
It should also be noted that there will be large reductions in luggage volume in hybrid engine options. The Combi version of the 2020 Skoda Octavia decreases to 470 liters and the liftback version to 450 liters.
