Scheduled to go on sale towards the end of this year, the electric BMW i4 was officially introduced today. The interior and technical details of the car will be shared later.
German automotive giant BMW’s 100 percent electric 4-door Gran Coupe model has partially removed the cover on the new BMW i4. The company seems to have kept its promise that the mass-production version of the new BMW i4 will look 85 percent like the concept model.
As expected, the front design of the new BMW i4 is similar to the company’s electric SUV model iX. The huge kidney shutter design, designed in the form of a closed panel, hosts many sensors in the car. In addition, the vertical air ducts on the edges of the bumper are among the details we are familiar with from the concept.
In the body design of the new BMW i4, we see blue details that represent the ‘electrical’ power, as in the company’s other models. On the side, a roof line that slopes too far back, a high shoulder line and aerodynamically oriented wheels draw attention. At the back, there are taillights with graphics that we know from other models.
The interior of the electric 4-door Gran Coupe model has not been shared yet. However, we do not expect a big surprise in terms of design in this area. The biggest difference will be that the new BMW i4 will be equipped with the company’s new generation iDrive 8 infotainment system. This system, which has features such as an advanced interface and OTA update support, has a 14.9 inch multimedia screen and a 12.3 inch digital display screen.
Technical details of the new BMW i4 have not yet been shared. However, we know that it will be sold in configurations offering different power and range values. These configurations can offer a range of up to 590 kilometers and power ratings up to 530 HP, according to WLTP. According to the information announced, the new i4 will be able to complete the acceleration of 0-100 km / h in 4 seconds.
Detailed information about the BMW i4 will be shared in the coming weeks. The car is scheduled to go on sale towards the end of this year. Meanwhile, the versions will also include the BMW M Performance version.
