According to a recent survey, 14% of Russians think cryptocurrency will replace fiat in 10 years, while 39% think it is impossible to give up cash.
New cryptocurrency survey
New research by Otkritie Bank, one of Russia’s top 10 banks, revealed that 14% of Russians think cryptocurrency will replace fiat within 10 years.
According to the Russian publication Nord News, the survey was conducted between April 12 and April 16, with a sample base of 1,000 Russians aged 18 to 65 living in cities with a population of over 100,000.
Results differ between regions and respondents from the Northwest have the least faith in crypto. 34% of respondents resolutely refuse to believe that crypto can replace fiat currencies in any use case.
However, there seems to be more optimism about cryptocurrency in Moscow, and 21% of respondents believe that the money will be exchanged for crypto and digital currency in the next decade. What’s more, four out of ten people believe that banks will transform themselves into “digital ecosystems” in the future.
