The German brand shared a hint image about a new member to join the electric Taycan family on its social media account. The entry-level model sold in China may be coming to the global market.
Porsche Taycan family, one of the interesting members of the electric vehicle market, will soon grow further. The German brand signaled the future of “a new member of the family” with the hint image it shared.
We can see all Porsche Taycan models in the post on Porsche’s Facebook account. In addition to the Taycan Turbo S, Turbo and 4S versions, there is a new version mentioned by the brand. It is clear that this is not the highly anticipated Taycan Cross Turismo model. When we think of a new variant of the sedan version, the first thing that comes to mind is the entry-level Taycan, which is already sold in China.
When we look at the body color of the new version in the image, this possibility becomes even stronger. If you remember, the ‘cheapest’ Porsche Taycan, which was introduced to be sold in China in the first place 6 months ago, took the stage with its own body color named ‘Frozen Berry’. The cue image shared today is quite similar to the color of the entry-level Taycan, although it is not very clear. It seems that Porsche has now decided that it is time for this cheap version to sail to new seas.
If this is the version in Porsche’s hint image, as we think, we can expect a rear-wheel drive Taycan with a single electric motor producing 408 horsepower. Equipped with a 79.2 kWh battery pack, the electric car offers a driving range of 414 kilometers according to NEDC in China. In addition, the Performance Battery Plus option, which increases the range to 489 kilometers, is also available. This version can also produce a maximum of 476 horsepower with overboost mode.
Of course, the most important advantage of the new entry-level Taycan is expected to be in price. Because the price of Taycan 4S, the cheapest version in Europe at the moment, is over 100 thousand euros and is quite expensive compared to its competitors.
On the other hand, a version called GTS is expected to join the Porsche Taycan family this year. Details on the subject will be revealed soon.
