Xiaomi is working on a new Mi Box with Android TV support. The new device, seen on the FCC list, draws attention with its similarity with the Mi Box S.
Xiaomi is working on a new Mi Box. The device, which is on the FCC list, offers a similar appearance to the Mi Box S introduced in 2018. Originally reported by 9to5Google, the new Mi Box’s MDZ-22-AG model number is almost identical to the MDZ-22-AB model number of the 2018 release.
Upcoming new Mi Box
The images in the FCC documents show that the device has the same design as the Mi Box S, but comes with a slightly different remote control.
Also, the images show that this new Mi Box has Amlogic S905-H quad-core processor that powers the original Mi Box and Mi Box S.
On top of the new Mi Box, there is an audio output port, an HDMI port, a USB port and a power input. The Netflix button on the remote now has a white background. The previous Live button has been replaced with the Prime Video button.
According to the user manual, there will be two AAA batteries in the shipping box, along with the new Mi Box, remote control, HDMI cable and a power adapter.
