Square, Inc., owned by Jack Dorsey, has partnered with Clubhouse’s largest crypto-focused group to raise awareness of Bitcoin among black investors.
They will increase blacks’ adoption of Bitcoin
In the update, “Operation: Satoshi Millionaire,” the crypto Clubhouse focus group Black Bitcoin Billionaires announced that Jack Dorsey has formed a new partnership with Square. According to the post, the group’s promoter, Lamar Wilson, is leading the partnership to create “more black millionaires” through a month-long campaign that started in early February.
The group aims to increase Bitcoin adoption among black families and investors, including providing more education about crypto assets.
Many black Americans use the Cash App
Isaiah Jackson, host of Black Bitcoin Billionaires, told Decrypt:
Cash App is a tool used by many black Americans. We wanted to partner with a company that puts their ease of use and money where their mouths are.
Jackson said he was the first to reach Dorsey and CashApp co-creator Brian Gassadonia for a possible partnership.
The group’s promoter, Wilson, said the goal of the project is to increase Bitcoin exposure to the black community. He hoped the campaign will help narrow the intergenerational wealth gap and that the partnership will enable other corporate sponsors to do the same.
