Known for its reliable analysis, Ming-Chi Kuo expects AirPods Max to be the least selling headset among all AirPods products. Kuo predicts less than 1 million AirPods Max shipments in 2021.
TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who previously presented his analysis of AirPods 3, finally shared his analysis about AirPods Max. According to the reports presented, the AirPods Max, Apple’s first-class on-ear headset, will not be able to offer a significant income to the company due to its sales volume.
“It will not reach 1 million in 2021”
Known for its reliable analysis, Kuo shared many of his analyzes related to AirPods products in the reports he presented. The analyst said that the third-generation AirPods, which are expected to go on sale this month, are not expected to arrive before the 3rd quarter of this year.
Sharing Apple’s analysis of the on-ear headset, Kuo expects the AirPods Max to account for no more than 1% of all AirPods sales in 2021. Estimating that 90 million AirPods shipments reached in 2020 will fall to 78 million this year, the analyst argues that AirPods Max sales cannot exceed 1 million for this reason.
Kuo sees the high price tag of AirPods Max as the biggest reason for the low number of sales. According to some leak information previously revealed, Apple plans to introduce a cheaper version of the AirPods Max with the AirPods 3. The cheaper version of the AirPods Max, which is expected to be completely plastic according to the leaks, will come with a lower price tag of about $ 150.
