AMONG US ‘GROWTH IN 2020 WAS SO GREAT THAT IT EVEN EXCEEDED OTHER POPULAR APPS, SUCH AS TIK TOK
Among Us is not a new game. It actually went on sale in 2018. But it was in 2020, thanks to it being ‘rediscovered’ by streamers and youtubers, that the public began to notice this title created by InnerSloth.

Many things have happened throughout these almost 365 days. In addition to winning prizes at The Game Awards, and reaching consoles like the Nintendo Switch, it has had an explosive growth in terms of its use.

AMONG US CONTINUES IN THE TASTE OF THE GREAT PUBLIC

But how much? Well, a measurement company, Smartme Analytics, shared a series of interesting data about it. Through its Smartme Flash Index report, it revealed the applications that have grown in each sector so far in 2020.

At the beginning of this it can be read ‘we have monitored more than 65,000 individuals 24/7 throughout the year…’. So these data come from a statistical analysis, so they should be viewed that way.

It continues with “… and after analyzing the growth of the almost 400 apps, which are used by more than 1% of the population in the most relevant sectors, these are the results.” Among Us appears in the Games Sector.

It tops the list with a 16.83 on the SFIx index. It beats other titles like Homescapes, which has 2.20, Dragon City with 1.35 and Roblox with 1.29. 67 mobile applications were considered in these measurements, which is interesting.

TIK TOK WAS PASSED FOR THIS GREAT GAME

The growth of Among Us not only comes out with games, but also with other types of software or services. For example, Tik Tok had a great year, but it only had 1.31 SFIx, and Twitch just a 0.20.

Some say that this InnerSloth title also outperformed Netflix, but when we reviewed the document we found no mention of this service. However, if other video on demand appear, as is the case with Disney +.

Of all the applications that appear in the Smartme Flash Index study, it is Among Us who stands out the most. Explosive growth is always surprising, but … can it be sustained?

It’s a mystery, as it all depends on how well InnerSloth’s strategy is planned. It is certain that the developers of this game were surprised by this success. Maybe they come up with ways to stay that way right now.
