INDUSTRY EXPERTS FORECAST THE NINTENDO SYSTEM TO BE ABOVE THE PLAYSTATION 5 AND THE XBOX SERIES X | S
The new generation of consoles by Microsoft and Sony generated a lot of expectation among consumers. Both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X | S sold out practically instantly, so we can think that both systems will be a resounding success in sales.
And although 2021 will be a very important year for both consoles, it seems that its potential and innovation will not be enough to surpass the modest Nintendo Switch in terms of the best sellers of the year.
At least that is what expert analysts in the video game industry predict, who believe that the Big N system will remain at the forefront for consumers around the world.
In the annual predictions of the site GameIndustry.biz, Mat Piscatella of NPD; Kantan Games ‘Dr. Serkan Toto and Ampere Analysis’ Pier Harding-Rolls agreed that the Switch will sell more units this year, compared to brand-new consoles from Microsoft and Sony.
WILL THE SWITCH BE POWERED BY A PRO VERSION?
Although the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S have a higher quality in terms of technical specifications than the Switch, they have not yet released their best video games, something that will be important for Nintendo to be a leader in sales according to the analysts.
‘Despite the launch of the new PlayStation and Xbox, it will be the Nintendo Switch that ends up selling the most units in 2021. I am going to dare and say that this will be due to content and promotional efforts, rather than the launch of a new model’, Piscatella appreciated.
‘Everyone who expects the Switch to collapse in 2021 will be disappointed. It will be the best console this year too, thanks to first-party games, a hardware update and the system becoming a lifestyle product in 2020 ′, added Toto.
Of course, we are all waiting for a new version of the hybrid system to be announced; something that, if confirmed, would end up consolidating Nintendo as the great winner of 2021.
‘I think the Nintendo Switch family of systems will be the best seller again in 2021, after a very strong 2020. Last year I was not convinced there would be a new model of the Switch, but it makes a lot of business sense that they release a version. improved in 2021 ′, emphasized Harding-Rolls regarding a new Switch Pro.
We’ll see if the analysts are right or if both Sony and Microsoft have something to say about their brand-new consoles.
