Anne Hathaway reviewed in a recent interview some moments of her career, stating that when auditioning for “The Dark Knight Rises”, she thought it was for a character very different from the one shown on screen.
As you may recall, Hathaway portrayed Selina Kyle in the Christopher Nolan film, and despite never mentioning Catwoman’s nickname, she possesses all the virtues and traits attributed to this antagonist and occasionally ally of the Dark Knight in the comics.
In a recent talk with BBC 1, the actress recalls that when appearing in her first audition for the film, she thought it was for the character of Harley Quinn.
“I walked in and had this adorable designer top Vivian Westwood, like beautiful-but-crazy with stripes all over it. And I was wearing these Joker-style flats. I was trying to give Chris these crazy little smiles, “recalls the actress.
Fortunately for Hathaway, she was able to get the character, being fondly remembered by many of the comic fans.
In “The Batman”, directed by Matt Reeves, we will see Catwoman on the big screen again being played by Zoe Kravitz.
