Dogecoin (DOGE) is now the new darling of celebrities and American rapper Snoop Dogg is the newest big name to gather behind cryptocurrency.
In a viral tweet addressed to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the most vocal advocate of digital money inspired by Shiba Inu, Snoop Dogg added a photoshoped cover of his seventh studio album.
Kiss lead singer Gene Simmons, another cryptocurrency cheerleader, shared another picture based on Disney’s animated musical The Lion King, holding Snoop Dogg as a Doge mascot instead of Simba a baby. Later, Musk tweeted about a new version of the meme coin.
Earlier this week, Musk turned to Twitter to promote Dogecoin as “the public’s cryptocurrency”, and the DOGE price rose over 50 percent after this share.
Dogecoin has surged more than 200 percent since the January 30th low of $ 0.021, but is now down almost 30 percent from its all-time high of $ 0.087 on January 29th.
It is beyond surreal that the richest person on the planet behind multiple revolutionary companies talk tirelessly about a meme cryptocurrency. Naturally, other communities are increasingly desperate to glorify their cryptocurrencies, but Musk is bringing the coin forward, claiming to be the “genius of simplicity.”
He also adds that Dogecoin’s meaninglessness is its greatest strength, adding that it is “the most fun crypto”.
The future currency of the world
Musk also made a striking prediction that cryptocurrency could become the future currency of our planet:
It is very likely that crypto will be the future currency of the world.
Last month, Elon Musk mentioned that he is at the top of mainstream adoption after adding the largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, to his Twitter bio.
