In the official statement from Ethereum, after months of work, the validator launchpad for Medalla, the last testnet of ETH 2.0, was released.
Ethereum 2.0, which will change the Ethereum network from beginning to end, including capacity and speed, is getting closer day by day. It was announced recently that Medalla, the last testnet before Ethereum 2.0, is planned to be launched on August 4. Medal will work very similar to Ethereum 2.0, which has been developing for a long time, and will be the real experience of Ethereum 2.0.
In today’s statement, it was stated that the first aim of this launchpad is to help validators train themselves in all aspects of the process and to make it as easy as possible to become an ETH 2.0 validator. “We want to make sure they understand what the Validators are doing and why.” The statement said.
It is noted that while 158,208 GöETH are already stake, 524,288 GöETH are required to start the Medalla testnet with 16,384 verifiers.
When Ethereum 2.0 is fully released, at least 32 ETH will be required to be confirmatory. 32 ETH winners and validators will receive ETH rewards. Exchanges are expected to do this on behalf of their users, thereby reducing the barrier of 32 ETH.
