Apple launches the Find My Certificate Assistant app for Made for iPhone licensees, kicking off third-party device support for the Find My app.
Announcing that it will open the Find network to third-party products for the first time at WWDC 2020, Apple took the first step in this regard. With the Find My Certificate Assistant app released for MFi (Made for iPhone) licensees, Apple aims to help third-party accessory manufacturers test whether their devices are working properly with Apple’s Find network.
Find My Certificate Assistant application was presented for testing purposes
Apple is in an effort to expand the use of the Find app used to find iPhone, iPad, Mac and AirPods models, and Apple is testing the first phase of plans to add support for third-party devices developed by other companies.
With the Find My Certificate Assistant application, MFi licensees will be able to test the discovery, connectivity and other essential requirements of the Find My application’s devices that will support network technologies.
