ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the dual-band GS-AX5400 WiFi 6 (802.11ax) gaming router, the first networking device in the ROG Strix series. Designed for a full gaming experience from every angle, the ROG Strix GS-AX5400 looks sharp and engaging in style.
The Strix GS-AX5400 makes it easy to prioritize game packs on any gaming device. It offers a flexible user experience by giving priority to mobile devices, computers or game consoles with its Mobile Game Mode, Game Port and Device Accelerator features. Console gamers are provided with the easy-to-use Open NAT feature, while the VPN Fusion feature allows PC gamers to use both a VPN and a normal connection at the same time.
Strix GS-AX5400 owners can securely use public Wi-Fi hotspots anywhere in the world with Instant Guard. This feature opens a secure VPN data tunnel to the Strix GS-AX5400 with one click. In addition, ASUS AiProtection Pro ensures network security for all connected devices throughout the router’s lifetime.
The compact size ROG Strix GS-AX5400, which has a black color dominant design, carries the characteristic atmosphere of the ROG Strix series. The product, which carries the paw print design unique to ROG Strix, has a dot pattern on the upper part of the product. The user-controllable Aura RGB illuminated front panel can optionally reflect various lighting effects.
Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 connections on the Strix GS-AX5400 utilize 160MHz channels in the 5GHz frequency band. Thus, speeds of up to 5400 Mbps are achieved in total. OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies also increase the efficiency of the network in environments where many devices are used, offering up to 4 times more network capacity compared to Wi-Fi 5. Wi-Fi 6 is also fully compatible with all existing Wi-Fi devices.
Offers optimal gaming experience on any device
With ROG Strix GS-AX5400, gamers can enjoy optimal gaming experiences on any device, whether it’s a laptop, desktop, smartphone or game console. Enabled from the ASUS Router app, Mobile Gaming Mode prioritizes smartphone gaming, reducing ping times and latency. Traffic from any device wired to the Dedicated Gaming Port is automatically prioritized without the need for complex settings. With the Device Accelerator feature on Strix GS-AX5400’s online control panel, priority can be given to the desired wireless device. Adaptive QoS also analyzes traffic and prioritizes game packages. Thus, it is envisaged to provide the best possible performance.
Console gamers can do port forwarding in three easy steps with Open NAT. With the WAN and LAN aggregation feature, users can combine two Gigabit Ethernet ports with a single click, thus obtaining an internet connection up to 2 Gbps from a suitable service provider. In addition, it is possible to use the same feature to provide 2 Gbps LAN connection to devices that need bandwidth such as NAS.
On most routers, players cannot use a normal connection when they establish a VPN connection. VPN Fusion on Strix GS-AX5400 enables simultaneous VPN and non-VPN connection. Thus, it is aimed that the players always reach the highest speed.
More privacy anywhere
ROG Strix GS-AX5400 offers protection both at home and on the go. At home, AiProtection Pro powered by Trend Micro™ provides network security for the lifetime of the router. This software, which protects all connected devices, also includes advanced Parental Control features.
Outside, Strix GS-AX5400 owners are protected by Instant Guard, which makes public Wi-Fi connections more secure. Instant Guard opens a VPN data tunnel to the Strix GS-AX5400 from anywhere in the world, giving users peace of mind to use risky open internet connections.
