Avatar News: THE CREATORS OF AVATAR: THE LEGEND OF AANG, SPEAK ABOUT THE FILLER WITHIN THE SERIES, AND THE EPISODES CONSIDERED THAT WAY
Avatar: The Last Airbender is an animated series that has won the liking of generations of fans. Created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko for Nickelodeon, it has remained current and popular over time.
Many fans were thrilled that it came to Netflix, and they were able to enjoy it over and over again. The fact is that there are some episodes that more than one fan considers filler, and that should not be taken into account.
AVATAR: THE LEGEND OF AANG DOESN’T GET RID OF THE FILLER
What do its creators think about it? Well, they both participated in an edition of the Avatar: Braving the Elements podcast, in which Dante Basco also participated, who voiced Prince Zuko in the series.
Likewise, there was Janet Varney, who played Korra on her respective show. The latter had the role of hosts. One thing they asked those responsible for Aang’s adventures is what they would change. That if they had the opportunity.
Konietzko commented ‘that blows my mind. There is so much that I would fix. ‘ Then he added, ‘There’s a lot of things that I just think’ Ugh, I wish that scene was better animated ‘; “I don’t like the appearance of this character in this episode.”
He also highlighted ‘you can only repair one part’. It is clear that it is not possible to fix many things, since it would involve a great expense. But for someone like him it would be very desirable to get it.
SOME EPISODES ARE MORE FILLING THAN OTHERS
Bryan Konietzko reflected by saying “sure, it would be nice if everything was super stylish and looked its best, but it still offers a really powerful and complete package to people, that goes straight to their hearts.
It was afterwards that he broached the subject of the filler episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender. One of them is that of The King of Omashu, from the first season, where an old friend of Aang’s called Bumi appears.
Both DiMartino and Konietzko claimed that it was not a filler, but was actually ‘super crucial’. But Michael Dante DiMartino if he spoke of another better known.
“The most famous is that of” The Great Divide, “which I agree, is quite filler,” he stressed. “That’s terrible,” declared Bryan Konietzko, adding, “You have this big gap; It is a big empty hole, but it is a filling. Yes, he was not happy with that. ‘ But there is something you like about this one.
Especially the design of the canyon crawlers that appear in that episode. Konietzko finished off with “even in the episodes that I was not so excited about, there were always moments that I really liked.” Ultimately, a lot of what came out in Avatar comes from these creators.
