New confirmed starting defense. WWE has just announced that Bayley and Sasha Banks will defend the Women’s Tag Team Championships against The IIconics and the pair formed by Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross in Backlash, the upcoming pay-per-view (PPV) event. This triple threat will include three of the four couples who have held the titles at some point in history.

Bayley and Banks began their second reign as tag team champions in the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, which aired last Friday on FOX. In the weekly program, they surprised Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross, despite having some communication problems, with a package and they got the belts. Thus, the last reign of Bliss and Cross came to an end after 58 days.

For their part, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce returned to WWE television programming a few weeks ago after a six-month absence. They began a rivalry with then WWE tag team champions Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss, with the goal of regaining the belts. In fact, on May 12 they received a starting opportunity on Monday Night Raw, but lost by disqualification.

Recall that Backlash 2020 will take place on June 14, 2020 from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and can be seen through the WWE Network or via PPV. Next, the billboard of the event to date.
