According to Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, if you are not as rich and “sophisticated” as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, you should not touch Bitcoin.
Bill Gates, the fourth richest person in the world, adopted this elitist attitude in an interview with Bloomberg:
“Elon has tons of money and is very knowledgeable. I am not worried about his Bitcoin going up and down randomly […] My general opinion would be that… If you have less money than Elon, you should probably be careful. ”
Gates worries on behalf of people who don’t have a lot of money to “go into this madness”.
As we have previously reported, the billionaire philanthropist has recently stated that he is “neutral” on Bitcoin, after stating that he has an anti-Bitcoin view in the past. Gates explained in his most recent interview that he does not use Bitcoin because it requires a lot of energy and encourages anonymous irreversible transactions. Still, he claimed that digital money is a good thing if it’s traceable:
“I think taking money into a more digital form and lowering transaction costs is something the Gates Foundation is doing in developing countries. But in our project, the transactions can be undone, and it can be seen who did what. ”
Gates expects digital money to reach even the poorest countries.
Finally, at the time of writing, Bitcoin (BTC) is trading at $ 49,557, down 11%.
