Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange company, announced that they will organize the “Binance Smart Chain Hackathon” event in Africa. With this move, the company plans to strengthen Blockchain engineers in the region.
It will be the first of its kind
The program called “Decentralized Africa”, with a prize pool of over $30,000, stands out as the first of its kind.
The 20-day hackathon event will encourage engineers to quickly build Blockchain solutions on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) to solve real problems in Africa.
The event, scheduled for Sunday, will focus on the development of DeFi and NFT projects covering the savings, lending and borrowing, exchanges, royalties and leasing, elections, identity management, land ownership and NFT markets.
More than $30,000 in prizes will be distributed.
Participants will be rated by the community and a respected panel of judges based on the quality of technology, innovation, demo and pitch.
The BSC Investment team will have the chance to compete for a prize pool of over $30,000 provided by the sponsors and the general community.
Participants will also have the opportunity to earn a limited number of NFTs and Binance Swags during the hackathon period.
Binance cares about Africa
In January 2021, the company’s CEO, Changpeng Zhao, held a launch event where he allocated $1 million to African developers building projects on BSC. The masterclass event managed to attract the attention of the whole world.
In line with their commitment to Africa and the growth of the Blockchain ecosystem, Binance has announced that they will continue to empower Blockchain engineers.
