Black Widow News: THIS ARTICLE WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR SOME OF THE FILMS OF THE CINEMATIC UNIVERSE OF MARVEL
The Black Widow movie has finally come out, which has become one of the great surprises of the summer season, thanks to its action, references to 007 cinema and its interesting protagonists. Now, it seems that Scarlett Johansson is ready to say goodbye to her character for good.
She had played Black Widow since her appearance 11 years ago in Iron Man 2, the fearless and strong spy from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, after her death in Avengers: Endgame, it seems that this movie will be the last we will see with this super heroine.
WHERE IS BLACK WIDOW LOCATED CHRONOLOGICALLY?
Black Widow is set just after Captain America: Civil War and before Avengers: Endgame when Natasha Romanoff is still in hiding from an enemy from her past who believed her to be dead.
So, this movie is a direct prequel to the latest adventure of the S.H.I.E.L.D. spy, in which she will have to fight alongside Yelena Belova against that enemy from her past.
Unlike other films, Scarlett Johansson was the executive producer of Black Widow, this would explain the change of tone with respect to the rest of the Marvel films. She herself chose Cate Shortland to cast the Yelena Belova actress. In her words: “It couldn’t have been someone else.”
The success of the film thus far is due to some of the decisions Scarlett Johansson made in production.
