The BlackPink group dethroned Ariana Grande on the record for most subscribers on YouTube. Now, the channel of the female k-pop band is in the Top 5 with the most subscribers on the platform.

BlackPink continues to gain popularity in the world. This translates into the figures that it has been achieving since its inception. Recently, the famous female k-pop group broke the record for singer Ariana Grande, who was the most subscribed female artist on YouTube.

2020 has seen the update of the platform’s channel figures and finally Grande was dethroned by the BlackPink gang. The latter has registered more than 42.5 million subscribers on her official channel, while the American interpreter was left behind with 42.3 million.

Currently, the K-Pop group has 279 videos, thus exceeding the amount of the singer, who only has 171 published. Similarly, some hits such as “Thank U, Next”, “Dangerous Woman”, “God is a Woman”, among others, appear as videos with a large number of visits.


BlackPink entered the Top 5 of the artists with the most subscribers on YouTube, which is led by Canadian Justin Bieber, with 55.5 million. Behind him comes Marshmello with 47 million; Ed Sheeran with 45 million; Eminem with 43.5 million; and finally the South Korean band with its recently reached 42.5 million.

However, now the group consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa becomes the one that tops the list of female artists with the most subscribers on YouTube. In addition, it has been the first and only k-pop group to achieve a billion views on the platform, thus standing out against other successful bands such as BTS or Red Velvet.

After their cessation of activities and suspension of concerts before the quarantine by COVID-19, the female band rang again with their song “How You Like That”. This will be performed by the singers in their next comeback (back to the stage) in September.
