NEW INFORMATION SUGGESTS THAT VICARIOUS VISIONS IS WORKING ON A DIABLO 2 REMAKE WITH BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT. LEARN MORE ABOUT IT
This week it emerged that Vicarious Visions was merged with Blizzard Entertainment. But it was also revealed that he had collaborated with this company on a new game. What is it about? Rumored to be the remake of Diablo 2.
That was what reporter Jason Schreier revealed through an investigation. By the looks of it, this developer had been working on this reissue for quite some time before being merged with Blizzard.
VICARIOUS VISIONS MERGER DETAILS REVEALED
How long? According to Schreier, “for months now.” Vicarious Visions would have been working on its development since last year. That was after he was left in charge of the project, which was originally in the hands of Blizzard Team 1.
However, after the poor reception that Warcraft 3: Reforged had, it was decided to disband the creatives involved. Why didn’t Team 3 take over? The reason is that it is quite busy.
Team 3 works on Diablo 4, and it was for the same reason that they decided to turn to Vicarious Visions. This new version of the game would be called Diablo 2: Resurrected.
It is likely that the official announcement of this reissue will be until the next BlizzCon, which will surely be a digital event. All due to the infamous coronavirus, which continues to cause problems for everyone. However, it is not known at what stage of development it is currently.
DEVIL 2: RESURRECTED IS THE NAME OF THIS REMAKE
This is due to various causes. For starters, it’s possible that what Team 1 did didn’t meet Blizzard’s quality standards.
So there’s a chance that what he developed was scrapped, and Vicarious Visions had to start from scratch. That would imply that any official announcement of the game is going to take a long time.
But if the study could pick up some of the work already done, there would be information in the near future.
Vicarious Visions has extensive experience working on game reissues and remasters. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 are an example of the quality of their work.
So if you really do develop Diablo 2: Resurrected, that’s good news for those looking forward to this game. Especially since the second installment in the series is one of the best. Let’s see if later they look at the first one, which is a classic.
