At the end of Cardano’s highly anticipated Mary hard fork event, the launch date has been announced.
March 1 date
The Hard Fork Combinator (HFC) event will take place on March 1st, according to an update from founder Charles Hoskinson. Noting that HFC will most likely end all quality assurance and developer checks on February 24, Hoskinson added that the actual event will be within five days of the first trigger from the previous phase.
Users on the network will need to download the latest version of Daedalus and upgrade their nodes to gain access to this network upgrade.
IOHK CEO added that everything was on schedule for the event.
What’s in the updates
Daedalus Flight will also be the first version of the cryptocurrency wallet to support Cardano’s native multi-asset interface. According to the founder, the upgrade to Daedalus Flight will take place in the first week of March. It will be deployed on the Daedalus mainnet in mid-March after two weeks of operation.
Cardano published the Goguen roadmap more than four months ago, with most phases scheduled for the end of February 2021.
In fact, according to a timeline shared by IOHK, it was expected to have local tokens on the mainnet at the end of February. Looking at the latest updates, it seems that Cardano is planning to deliver Goguen without any significant delay.
Cardano has made a splash, up over 300% since the beginning of the year. The token is trading at $ 0.84 at the time of writing.
