There are still more stories to tell in the dark, or at least that’s what Paramount and Entertainment One have made known.
It has been announced that “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”, which was directed by André Øvredal and with Guillermo del Toro as executive producer, will have a sequel.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Øvredal resumed his position as director, with Dan and Kevin Hageman returning as screenwriters.
The story will be rewritten by Guillermo del Toro, who is also confirmed to serve as executive producer again.
The film is inspired by Alvin Schartz’s short horror stories for children written in the 1990s.
The first installment featured a group of young people in a small town during the 1980s, who were confronting supernatural creatures from an old newspaper that kept a terrible secret.
