Sally Rooney’s debut novel “Conversations With Friends” has received the green light for an adaptation to Television at the hands of the BBC.

The series will feature 12 episodes telling the story of Rooney’s book, and will be directed by Lenny Abrahamson.

Abrahamson will make an adaptation of Rooney’s work for the second time, as a television version of the writer’s second novel, “Normal People,” is set for release on BBC Three next spring.

“Conversations with Friends” focuses mainly on the friendship between two university students, Frances and Bobbi, while developing an intense and dangerous friendship with an older married couple.
