The Cortex-A710 core brings about a 10 percent performance improvement over the Cortex-A78 core. Cortex-A510 core offers 35 percent better performance than Cortex-A55 core.

ARM, which used two-digit numbering in Cortex architectures until now, switches to 3-digit numbers from now on. While ARM Cortex-A710 focuses on efficiency, Cortex-A510 has become the updated new member of this series after a long time.

Cortex-A710 and Cortex-A510

Raising the performance bar with the Cortex-X2 core, ARM has had the opportunity to focus on efficiency in other cores. The Cortex-A710 core brings a performance increase of around 10 percent over the Cortex-A78 core, but sustainable efficiency has increased by 30 percent.

Being the first core of the ARM v9 architecture to combine performance and efficiency, the A710 doubles the previous generation in peak AI performance. Unlike the Cortex-X series, the Cortex-A710 core will continue to support 32-bit.

There are also significant performance leaps in games. The Cortex-A710 and Mali-G710 duo offer 33 percent better processor performance, 20 percent graphics performance and 15 percent better efficiency in games than the Cortex-A78-Mali-G78 duo.

The Cortex-A510 core is the first energy-oriented core since 2017. It offers 35 percent better performance, 20 percent better efficiency and 3 times faster AI performance than the Cortex-A55 core. Compared to the Cortex-A73 core, there is 10-15 percent better performance and 35 percent efficiency. With the Cortex-A510, we will be able to see satisfactory performance at the entry level as well.

To help cost, two Cortex-A510 cores will be housed in a single chip with shared memory. Thus, producers will save on space and reduce the cost. Cortex-A710 and Cortex-A510 cores will reach the end of the year at the earliest.
