THROUGH THE 2021 ANIME AWARDS, CRUNCHYROLL AWARDED THE MOST OUTSTANDING SERIES THAT WERE RELEASED DURING THE LAST YEAR

Last Friday the Anime Awards 2021 took place. It is through these awards that fans of Japanese animation, with the participation of Crunchyroll, vote and choose the most outstanding series of the year.

There are several categories available, and in general, it is taken into account from the moment that a proposal is accessible in the West. That explains the choice of one of the winners this time.

JUJUTSU KAISEN WAS THE BEST SERIES IN THE ANIME AWARDS 2021

In this case, we mean BEASTARS, which won in the Best Opening category. Her anime premiered in 2019, but due to how long Netflix took to locate her, many fans knew her until the following year.

At least it is the only exception made this time. What was clear is that the big favorite at this award was Jujutsu Kaisen from the MAPPA studio. It won the Anime of the Year award, as well as Best Ending and another.

It was about Best Antagonist, and that was because of Ryomen Sukuna, who in the history of the series ‘lives’ within the body of the protagonist. Something that made the Anime Awards 2021 stand out is because of how varied the winners were.

That is to say, not because a series was fashionable did it grab all the awards. Actually, fans voted for anime belonging to various genres. The bad thing is that some very good ones didn’t get any awards.

CRUNCHYROLL FANS VOTED FOR VERY DIFFERENT SERIES FROM EACH OTHER

For example, neither MAPPA’s Dorohedoro nor Wit Studio’s Great Pretender achieved any recognition. It should be noted that the films were not seen. These awards only focus on television. The complete list of winners is as follows:
