The Formentor VZ5, which is announced to be produced in limited numbers, used a 2.5-liter turbo gasoline unit from Audi Sport. The sporty SUV will be available in the last quarter of this year.
Cupra officially unveiled the Formentor VZ5 today, with which he recently shared the hint image. Cupra will produce only 7 thousand of this model.
The nickname ‘VZ’ in the 2021 Cupra Formentor VZ5 comes from the Spanish word ‘veloz’, which means ‘fast’. The number 5 at the end represents the number of pistons in the engine. Because the car uses a 2.5-liter turbo five-cylinder engine from Audi Sport. This makes the Formentor VZ5 Cupra’s most powerful model.
The engine, which produces 390 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque, is combined with a 7-speed DSG and 4Drive four-wheel drive system. Thus, the Formentor VZ5 completes the 0-100 km / h acceleration in 4.2 seconds. So it’s 0.3 seconds faster than its German cousins RS Q3 and RS Q3 Sportback using the same engine. Its maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h.
The 2021 Cupra Formentor VZ5 is 10 mm closer to the ground than the standard model thanks to its sports suspension system. Equipped with Adaptive Chassis Control with 15-level damper adjustment, the SUV’s braking system is also responsible for Akebono brakes with six-piston calipers at the front. The 20-inch wheels you see in the photos are also exclusive to this model.
The matte black grille surround, a larger lower grille, carbon fiber rear diffuser, cross-mounted copper exhaust outlets and the VZ5 badge on the tailgate are just some of the details that distinguish the sporty SUV from the standard version. Inside, blue or black leather covered bucket seats draw attention. Brown Nappa leather seats are on the option list. In addition, copper-colored details continue in the cabin.
The 2021 Cupra Formentor VZ5 will be available in the last quarter of this year. The price is not yet clear.
