CD Projekt Red delighted a legion of fans with its excellent work on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and now its next title, Cyberpunk 2077, promises to be even more complete and audacious, being released on September 17 this year.
But what is Cyberpunk 2077?
The game will be an open-world, first-person action RPG, which, as the name implies, will bring the theme of cyberpunk: a kind of alternative science fiction subgenre, well known for its focus on “high technology and low quality of life. “.
Players will step into the shoes of “V”, a fully customizable mercenary character (including areas such as breasts, buttocks and genitals), and will have several firearms and hand-to-hand combat during the adventure.
Through the use of experience points, it will be possible to improve the attributes of the characters, and this “EXP” can be divided into three different classes.
Even before its debut, the game has won hundreds of awards, such as “Best Game” at E3 2018.
Wake up, samurai
One of Cyberpunk 2077’s biggest surprises occurred during E3 2019, when the trailer presented to the public revealed the participation of none other than actor Keanu Reeves, the eternal Neo deMatrix and the Mafia nightmare John Wick.
Reeves also appeared on stage during the performance, and ended up marking the day when he responded to a fan compliment saying he was “breathtaking”. The moment became so famous that it ended up becoming part of the game, with the “You’re Breathtaking” trophy / achievement being unlocked for those who complete 100% of the game.
Originally, Cyberpunk 2077 was scheduled to be released on April 16 this year, but the developers preferred to postpone the date to September as a way of ensuring the best possible quality for players.
In the official statement about the delay, CD Projekt explained that one of the reasons was to polish and refine the whole experience that Night City (main city of the game) can offer, after all the place will have several stories and places to visit.
And this week, another novelty explained why this decision was necessary, when the developers explained during a podcast that the game has over a thousand NPCs with their own routines, personalities and mannerisms, as published in this Voxel article.
A game for adults
Cyberpunk 2077 was categorized as Nature by the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board), the North American agency responsible for the age rating of games in the country.
This is because in addition to the “advanced” possibilities of customization, the title will feature scenes of sexual content, with the protagonist being able to relate to other characters presented by the story, a lot of violence and situations involving the use of drugs. So, it is better not to leave children around when it comes to playing games, right?
