Ripple, a San Francisco-based blockchain service provider, announced that the company is experiencing a record-breaking 2020 with significant growth in RippleNet transactions.
The tech firm also reported that despite the SEC’s lawsuit, it gained 15 new RippleNet customers before 2020 ended.
RippleX is currently reaching more than 12 million users worldwide through the XRP Ledger (XRPL), Interledger Protocol and Ripple’s partners, according to an official statement by Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse.
Garlinghouse also talked about the growing interest of global customers and developers for RippleNet and RippleX. RippleNet recorded three million transactions in 2020. This represents five times the growth of the previous year. The XRP-powered on-demand liquidity (ODL) solution is responsible for $ 2.4 billion of the total volume.
Ripple announced new partnerships with Malaysian-based mobile wallet company Mobile Money and Mutual Trust Bank earlier this month, despite all the difficulties of recent weeks. 2020 has been a pretty good year for the company in terms of new deals, due to record customer demand and transaction volume growth. As can be seen, Ripple continues to establish new partners, despite the legal troubles between the US and SEC. In fact, 15 new customers have been involved since the complaint, according to CEO Brad Garlinghouse:
“GLOBALLY CUSTOMER CARE CONTINUES TO BE VERY STRONG. THE TEAM CONTINUES TO REALIZE NEW CUSTOMER AGREEMENTS AT 2 WEEKS IN MORE THAN 40 COUNTRIES, 18 of them FOR RIPPLENET. DESPITE THE SEC CASE AGAINST RIPPLE ON DECEMBER 22, WE HAVE MADE 15 NEW AGREEMENTS TO CLOSE 2020 WITH MORE CUSTOMERS THAN EVER. ”
Going forward, Ripple’s CEO said that the company will continue to develop new innovations in crypto and payments interoperability. According to the statements, the focus will be on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). Regardless of regulatory uncertainty and the SEC case in the US, Garlinghouse is optimistic about 2021. Garlinghouse acknowledges continued strong support from customers and thinks positively that 2021 will be more successful than the previous year.
In addition, the Asia-Pacific region remains the busiest when it comes to demand, according to RippleNet executive Asheesh Birla. Finally, XRP is currently trading around $ 0.27, after losing about 4% of its value in the past 24 hours.
