A new feature is coming to the popular messaging application WhatsApp. Users will now be able to post self-destructing images within a specified time.
After WhatsApp launched the self-disappearing messages feature last year, it is now working on a similar feature. But with a great handicap.
According to WABetaInfo, one of the reliable sources on WhatsApp, with the upcoming feature, users will be able to share images that will disappear and self-destruct for both parties after a predefined time. As you can see in the screenshot, the feature can be used with a button added to the image preview screen.
Screenshots can be taken
Users will then be able to share the picture by clicking this button and as soon as they leave the chat, the picture will disappear automatically. Also, those who take a self-destructing image will be warned that it is missing. WABetaInfo also reveals that WhatsApp does not allow users to export self-destructing images.
However, it was stated that WhatsApp did not take any measures to take screenshots. Therefore, it is possible to say that this feature will not work well in practice. Because the company did not take such a measure for the self-destructing messages feature. Therefore, this makes both features completely useless. It is not yet clear when the disappearing images feature will become available.
