Bitcoin has become a part of mainstream media. While it was odd to tweet and discuss Bitcoin a few years ago, over the past few months we’ve seen the most influential figures and companies talk about it.
Elon Musk is a veteran Bitcoin commentator and also known for his comments on some other cryptocurrencies, but it has been quite some time since his last tweet about BTC.
Today, at the height of a quiet weekend, Musk tweeted:
Immediately after his tweet, there was a $ 200 increase in Bitcoin’s price. Twenty minutes later, Musk said as an adjunct to his original tweet, “I’m kidding, who needs a safe word!?” used the expression.
Bitcoin is my safe word

Musk, known for his very expensive posts, tweets about Dogecoin or SpaceX from time to time, tweeted “Bitcoin is not my safe word” 10 days after the start of 2020.
Bitcoin is *not* my safe word
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) January 10, 2020
If you have noticed the date of the tweet posted above, you have seen exactly 10 days after the start of 2020. In January, bitcoin was trading around $ 8,000. Now, while writing his tweet within 10 days to expiry, Bitcoin is trading at $ 23,800 a day after setting its all-time high of $ 24,200.
As always, the tweet asks about 40 million Twitter followers. It is undoubtedly a gain for BTC that these events are once again in front of such a large audience.
It will also be interesting to see where the prices will go from here and whether the cryptocurrency will go through another impressive phase.
