According to the statement made by the Central Mechanical Engineering Design Bureau affiliated to the Russian State Atomic Energy Agency Rosatom, it was stated that the equipment is being worked on to increase the efficiency and safety of nuclear power plants. The main circulation pumps, vital for nuclear power plants, are responsible for the passage of the coolant through the reactor to remove heat generated around the reactor core. The pump, developed by the Central Mechanical Engineering Design Bureau, eliminates the need to use oil in the reactor compartment and thus significantly increases fire safety.
One of the features that make GTsNA-1753 superior is the reduction of the metal volume used in pump production due to the abandonment of the oil system and related equipment. In this way, a reduction of up to several tons is achieved in the pump.
Expressing that the main circulation pump named GTsNA-1753, which came to the test stage, will be tested at TsKBM 2 facility in Sosnovıy Bor city of Leningrad Region, Russian officials shared the information that the pump will be operated in real operating conditions for 5 thousand hours, at temperatures up to 300 ° C and pressure up to 200 atmospheres. . In the following period, the equipment to be promoted to the last revision will be delivered to the relevant customers.
