Prohibitions imposed on Huawei by the United States were also imposed by other countries, and the Chinese company had to fight against the world. Contrary to what you might think, this embargo was applied not only to phones but also to Huawei’s strong infrastructure. Huawei received a support from European countries on 5G today. Ericsson closed his eyes today for the Huawei ban, so to speak.

Börje Ekholm, CEO of Ericsson, a manufacturer of telecom equipment, made a big statement in an interview with Swedish media recently. CEO; “If the Huawei ban continues, Ericsson will leave Sweden.” said. Regarding this issue, it was pointed out in Swedish local news that there was a reason behind Ericsson CEO’s statement.

According to the Swedish government’s plan; It is wanted to prevent Huawei from taking part in the country’s 5G infrastructure. At this point, the big-hearted Ericsson will step in and stand by Huawei.

Anna Hallberg of the Daily News; The Swedish government says it is true that Ericsson will leave the country unless the ban on Huawei and ZTE is lifted. So this is not a blank threat. If Ericsson leaves Sweden, it will mean that Sweden cannot find a way out for infrastructure. So it seems that the Swedish government will gladly lift the ban of Huawei and ZTE.

However, there is a diplomatic problem. These bans have been taken by the Swedish Post and Telecommunications Administration. In other words, the government cannot lift this ban decision alone. Probably in a few weeks, a statement from the Swedish authorities will come and it is announced that the bans have been lifted.

It is very gratifying that Huawei took Ericsson with it. If such reactions come from other competitors, 2021 could be a good year when Huawei is on the rise again.
