Next generation Exynos processors contributed by AMD with the RDNA 2 graphics architecture will also be included in the company’s laptops. The new Galaxy Book S could be the first.
Recent criticism of its own design Exynos chipsets on the performance side pushed Samsung to restructure. The technology giant that partnered with AMD has produced an exciting project.
Notebook with Exynos processor
Samsung is expected to bring the Exynos chipset with Radeon graphics to the stage later this year, as the company stated in its statements that the next generation will come with AMD graphics.
It is not yet known which architectures Samsung will include in the Exynos chipset, but AMD’s recently leaked Ryzen C7 mobile prototype chip included Cortex-A1, Cortex-A78 cores and RDNA2 graphics unit. It was revealed that this chip surpassed the Apple A14 chip in GFXBench tests.
It is known that Samsung wants to use the new Exynos chipset in its laptops. Sources state that the current Galaxy Book S laptop model, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx chipset, will be replaced with the Exynos chip. Thus, a completely Samsung-made laptop will emerge, from the screen to the chipset and memory.
As of the period, we can say that the Exynos chipset will use the next generation ARM architectures. With some optimizations to be made, a design that will go par with the Apple M1 will not come as a surprise. Thus, the new generation Galaxy Book S will be as ambitious as the ARM processor MacBook models.
