Facebook and Instagram started celebrating Graduation Week 2020, which will have a series of online events to commemorate the graduation of high school and college students in the United States, unable to celebrate their graduation in person, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The main attraction will be the virtual ceremony led by presenter Oprah Winfrey, next Friday (15), which can be seen on Facebook Watch. During the event, schools and colleges from across the country will be shown, including photos and videos of the 2020 classes and also messages sent by principals and deans.

And the party will also have several special guest appearances. Actresses Jennifer Garner and Awkwafna, gymnast Simone Biles and rapper Lil Nas X are confirmed, with the musical part being the responsibility of singer Miley Cyrus. Throughout the event, there will also be the presence of several other celebrities, such as Selena Gomez, DJ Khaled, Matthew McConaughey and Cardi B.

Trainees will also be able to make their own virtual graduation ceremonies and remote parties, using the special resources available, such as the virtual graduation hub, personalized filters, profile frames with the colors of educational institutions, soundtracks and much more.

Graduation Week 2020 started yesterday, with the release of special resources on both platforms. This Tuesday (12th), we have the senior virtual night on Instagram, dedicated to athletes like Sabrina Ionescu, Myles Powell, Andrew Pryts and Shay Knighten.

On Wednesday, there will be a comedy show on Instagram, a film screening about the graduates and sharing stories from the classes on Facebook. On Thursday, we highlight the honors to the best and brightest students and a photo contest with a prize of US $ 5,000.
