Qualcomm Snapdragon processors will continue to mark the mobile world. The processor, which will be the continuation of Snapdragon 888, let’s see what it offers.
Qualcomm Snapdragon processors have been the first choice of manufacturers in every aspect in the Android ecosystem. When you want to announce a high-end smartphone today, the first processor you will knock on its door will be the Snapdragon 888. Introduced in December last year, the processor has been used in many phones in the premium segment so far. Currently, the Snapdragon 888 Plus is starting to appear in benchmark tests. It will probably start taking place on smartphones in the second half of the year.
The processor that is the subject of our news is the continuation of Snapdragon 888, that is, we are talking about the chipset that will be introduced at the end of this year. Evan Blass aka @evleaks, one of the reliable sources of the mobile world, announced important information about Qualcomm’s next processor. Let’s talk about these now.
Qualcomm Snapdragon SM8450 So Ambitious
The processor, which will carry the model number SM8450, is being developed in the 4nm manufacturing process. Compared to the Snapdragon 888 with a 5nm manufacturing process, we are talking about a very important development on this side. When it comes to efficiency, the production technology of the processor is of great importance.
The processor, which will come with a built-in X65 5G modem, consists of the Kryo 780 CPU built on the ARM Cortex V9 technology announced earlier this year. Spectra 680 image signal processor is another remarkable improvement in the processor, which will have the Adreno 730 graphics unit.
The phones that will debut with the Qualcomm processor we mentioned will support 1GHz mmWave or 400MHz sub-6GHz 5G frequencies. The chipset will also come with the FastConnect 6900 subsystem to support Bluetooth LE Audio/5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E. Other features of the processor include quad-channel LPDDR5 RAM, Adreno 665 video processing unit.
We are aware that we have drowned the news in numbers, and we should state that all this means a serious leap after Snapdragon 888. On the technical features and performance side, such a leap has been experienced in the transition from Snapdragon 835 to Snapdragon 845.
The first phones with Qualcomm’s next-generation processor will begin to appear at the end of 2020. The first of these phones may be the Xiaomi Mi 12.
