Electronic Arts confirms that FIFA 21 will have a kind of Smart Delivery between the versions of PlayStation 4 / PS5 and Xbox One / Xbox Series X.
The EA Play issued in the early hours of this past Thursday 18th left us as an announcement the first trailer for FIFA 21 and the confirmation that the new installment of the saga will be released on October 9 both on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch (Legacy Edition) as in the new generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Specifically, for these versions the title will arrive at the end of the year, when the corresponding consoles become available. EA has commented on a detail of great relevance in this regard and that is that we will have a “Double version” and we will only have to pay once to enjoy FIFA 21 both on the current generation console and on the new one, as long as they are from the same “family”. We explain below.
Pay once and enjoy FIFA 21 on PS4 and PS5 or Xbox One and Series X
“Get FIFA 21 or Madden NFL 21 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One before the release of FIFA 22 and Madden NFL 22, and upgrade your game to the next-generation equivalent console (Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5) at no additional cost.” Comment on the fine print at the bottom of EA’s official page announcing game details.
Therefore, if we get the current generation version of FIFA 21 we can start playing from October 9 and update our version of the title automatically when the new consoles come out and we get one of them. On the other hand, we remember that if we reserve the Ultimate Edition or Champions Edition version we will be able to access the game three days before, on October 6, 2020.
