Seven of the 29 participants selected for the award as a result of the evaluation made by nearly 60 jury members got their names written in the final stage. Here are the 2021 European Car of the Year finalists:
The finalists who will compete in the 2021 leg of the ‘European Car of the Year Award’, which is recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the automotive world, have been announced.
A long list of candidates was determined for the 2021 European Car of the Year Award, consisting of 29 models of different classes, electric or internal combustion engines. After the evaluation of the jury members, 7 of these candidates managed to get their names written in the finals. The vehicles in question were announced as Citroen C4, Cupra Formentor, Fiat 500, Land Rover Defender, Skoda Octavia, Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen ID.3.
The “What Do You Think 2021 Car of the Year in Europe Should Be?” The number of people who said Peugeot 2008 in our survey was quite high. But we see that the French crossover could not make it to the final stage. In addition, the representatives of the electric wing were not able to make the names of models such as Honda e, Mazda MX-30 and Polestar 2 in the finals. In this case, we can say that Volkswagen ID.3 is a very assertive name.
The winner of the 2021 European Car of the Year Award will be announced at a special event to be held on March 1, 2021. The Volvo XC40 was awarded in 2018, the Jaguar I-Pace in 2019, and the Peugeot 208 last year.
