The Ioniq 5, which will be officially introduced on February 23, uses recycled materials and sustainable textiles in the interior. Here’s what’s known about Ioniq 5:
Although the automotive world is facing various problems on the production side, it has a very busy February month as a promotion. This month, when we see new models and will continue to see, Hyundai will also uncover the new Ioniq 5.
The Korean brand shared a new cue image (February 23) before the introduction of the Ioniq 5, the first model to be launched under the new Ioniq brand, which it launched last year. In the shared image, we can see the interior of Ioniq 5 from a bird’s eye view. Hyundai calls the center console ‘Universal Island’ that caught our attention and underlines that it can be shifted back and forth.
Ioniq 5’s front seats have leg rests. This allows the driver and passenger to relax, for example, during charging. The seats in the car are covered with a type of leather upholstery that is dyed and processed with vegetable oil extracts from flax seeds. In other areas, sustainable textiles such as recycled fiber and fabrics recycled from plastic pet bottles were used.
The technical specifications of the Ioniq 5 were leaked by Hyundai Austria in the past months. In these features, it was stated that the car would have a four-wheel drive arrangement thanks to two electric motors producing 313 horsepower, it would complete the acceleration of 0-100 km / h in 5.2 seconds and offer a driving range of 450 kilometers according to WLTP.
