According to recent posts on the Reddit discussion forum, Microsoft is considering accepting Bitcoin payments on its Xbox game console online store. The company urged users to vote on the issue.
Redditor Jebrusura, who provided a screenshot of one of the questions on the Xbox Series X discussion page, said the survey asked customers about their views on using payment methods, including Bitcoin.
A response to their original post explains that the survey was sent to Insider program participants.
Microsoft has been close to Bitcoin in the past. In 2014, the company began allowing US-based Microsoft users to purchase Windows content, including games, with Bitcoin. However, it is currently not accepting cryptocurrency payments for its Xbox online store.
Microsoft does not step into the industry
Meanwhile, Microsoft does not seem to follow Tesla and Square when purchasing Bitcoin for its corporate treasury. CEO Brad Smith said in an interview with CNN that he “hasn’t heard any talk” about expanding Microsoft’s investment policy to include cryptocurrencies, while founder Bill Gates has also recently imitated Microsoft’s $ 1.5 billion Bitcoin investment from Tesla. he said he had no plans.
Gates took a neutral stance on Bitcoin and said he was not an investor.
