Foldable iPhone prototypes have successfully passed internal endurance tests.Samsung, Xiaomi and other brands have made a lot of progress in foldable smartphones.

Apple, on the other hand, seems to have lagged in developing such devices, but according to the latest news, foldable iPhone prototypes seem to have passed the endurance test.

According to the content shared by the Taiwanese website Economic Daily News, Apple has tested its foldable phone designs with 2 different mechanisms at the Foxconn factory in Shenzhen, China, and the tests were positive. It is known that in the tests conducted here, only the folding mechanisms of the smartphones are tested, not the full state.

The first foldable iPhone model has two screens and is designed to be connected to each other by a hinge in the middle. We have seen the iPhone model, which is offered with two separate screens connected to a hinge, in patents received by Apple before. Although, in theory, when it comes to foldable phone, everyone thinks of flexible panel devices, this phone is also referred to in the same way.

The second foldable iPhone prototype has a clamshell design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip or Lenovo Moto RAZR, unlike the first prototype. This iPhone model may feature Samsung’s flexible OLED display. The basis for this is old reports stating that Apple ordered a large number of foldable screens from Samsung in early 2020.

It is not yet clear which one Apple will prefer among the foldable iPhone designs. But when we look at the developments, it would not be wrong to predict that a foldable iPhone model will come out in the future. We can see this from the patent rights received and the news on the agenda.
