Considering the revenues, profitability and many other variables of companies, Forbes announced the world’s 100 most valuable brands. While tech companies dominate the top of the list, things don’t seem to go well for the automotive industry.
Forbes, a business-oriented magazine with a history of over 100 years, announced the 100 most valuable brands of 2020. Although the list led by technology companies largely resembles the list of the most valuable brands of the past year, there are also some surprise ups and downs, newcomers to the list, and large companies that cannot be included in the list.
The top five rows of the list are entirely technology companies, and quite similar to last year’s list: Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Facebook. While four of the top five companies maintained their growth rate, Facebook saw a serious drop in brand value. Also, when we look at all the 100 most valuable brands, we see that the total value increased from $ 2.33 trillion last year to $ 2.54 trillion.
Companies that increase their brand value the most
According to Forbes, Netflix has been the company that has increased its value the most since last year, with a 79 percent increase in value. Chanel is Netflix with 42 percent, Amazon with 40 percent, Microsoft with 30 percent, Paypal with 24 percent. In addition, Apple, which is the most valuable brand, has managed to increase its brand value by 17 percent.
The company that lost its brand value the most compared to last year was Facebook with 21 percent. Considering that Facebook is the 5th most valuable brand in the world, it would not be wrong to say that this loss is surprising. Other companies that lost the most value were Wells Fargo with 16 percent, Mercedes-Benz, Ford and GE with 14 percent.

Visa’s biggest leaps in Forbes’ list of the most valuable brands were Visa, which rose from 25th to 18th, Adidas, rising from 61th to 51st, Netflix from 38th to 26th, Chanel from 79th to 52nd, and 56th from 56th. Cartier made it to the rank.
Nintendo, Hennessy, Burger King and AXA are new members of the list of the most valuable brands; Philips, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Nissan and Kellogg’s were on the list last year but were not listed this year.
