Xiaomi made us wait a lot, leaving our eyes on the road, but finally released MIUI 12.5 global version. Made performance improvements in user interface, CPU and battery consumption related issues. It is possible to start by saying that Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 is more focused on system optimizations.
With the reduction of core memory up to 20%, it contributes up to 22% less CPU consumption thanks to the optimized new user interface. In addition, this new update provides 15% less battery consumption. MIUI 12.5 supports pure Chinese for now. MIUI + includes features like Natural Sounds, Touch, and Sandbox, along with many updates to new wallpapers. However, for now, it is not clear whether this will be unique to China or global.
This new update, which reduces the CPU consumption by sharing the operations of the phone to the other core instead of loading it to one core, will also extend the life of the phones. Thus, the interface of the phones will run faster and smoother. On the other hand, MIUI 12.5 update will also allow some system applications to be uninstalled, so unused applications can be prevented from filling up memory.
Xiaomi officials compared One UI 2.5 with new updates like iOS 14.2.1 and announced that most of the apps can now be uninstalled. In addition, you can hide other apps that are not uninstalled. Some of the new removable system apps include: Mi Calculator, Notes, Weather, Compass, Scanner, Mi Recorder and more. Those that can be hidden include Mi Music, Themes, Mi Video, Downloads, and Mi File Manager.
