Galaxy Fold should get version with smaller screen and water resistance. Samsung may be working on two new models: Galaxy Fold 2 and Galaxy Fold 2 Lite.

The Galaxy Fold 2, Samsung’s future foldable cell phone , had new specs leaked. The specialized portal LetsGoDigital has released patents that indicate that the Galaxy Fold should win a version resistant to water and dust . Another novelty should be the smaller external display, intended only to show notifications.

Rumors also indicate that the manufacturer may be working on a more affordable version of the most expensive cell phone in Brazil . The new generation of the Galaxy Fold is expected to be announced in August along with the Galaxy Note 20 .

Previous leaks pointed to a successor to the Galaxy Fold with a larger external panel, which could mean the company is working on two new models. It is possible that a cell phone with a larger external display, called the Galaxy Fold 2, and a cheaper and smaller screen, called the Galaxy Fold 2 Lite, will be launched.

The new renderings – images taken on the computer and not actual photos of the product – show a thin, long display on the outside of the smartphone. Taking proportions into account, it should only serve to check notifications and answer calls.

The drawings show a design very similar to the previous generation. Inside, there would be a hole in the right corner to house two cameras. At the rear, the phone would use a triple camera system . According to the leaked images, the device must also have a fingerprint reader located on the side, stereo speaker and USB-C input .

The patent also reveals that the cell phone must have IP certification for water and dust resistance. If the rumor is confirmed, the smartphone will be the first foldable to have this technology.
