For those who do not see enough 8GB of memory in mid-range RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards of the Ampere architecture, the RTX 3060 graphics card may come with 12GB option.

After Nvidia released the mid-range GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics card, it’s time for the original RTX 3060 model. About a month later, the GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card is claimed to be available with 6GB and 12GB of memory.

RTX 3060 12GB
Although the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics card came with a significant performance increase compared to the previous generation, its 8GB video memory capacity was criticized. It was stated that over 8GB is required in many games. With the RTX 3060 12GB, Nvidia is predicted to be an important alternative at this level. As will be remembered, the GTX 1060 graphics card had 3GB and 6GB memory options.

The RTX 3060 graphics card, which will offer a 192-bit bus, aims not to leave space for the Radeon RX 6700 series. The fact that the Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card will offer 12GB of memory on the 192-bit bus is probably the main reason for this move.

It is a question of whether there will be a hardware difference between the 6GB and 12GB options of the GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card, which is expected to be introduced at the CES 2021 virtual fair. Of course, the price will be very decisive at this point.
