US-based search and technology giant Google has extended the rule of working from home due to the coronavirus outbreak. The company announced in its statement that the rule of working from home will continue until July 2021.
The coronavirus epidemic, which erupted earlier this year, affected daily life negatively, while also causing changes in the business world. One of these changes was to start working from home.
Many companies around the world, including those in the technology world, sent their employees to their homes and switched to work from home. However, the fact that there is still no cure for the outbreak seems to cause companies in countries where the virus is transmitted to more and more people every day.
Google extends working time from home until next year
According to the news in The Street, the US-based search giant Google has decided to extend its decision to work from home until July next year. One of the biggest companies in the technology world, Google has more than 200 thousand employees.
Google is not the only company to extend the rule of working from home. Amazon, the CEO and founder of the world’s richest person, Jeff Bezos, extended the rule of working from home until at least January 2021. The company also plans to restrict unnecessary business travel until the end of the year.
In an announcement in May, Microsoft offered its employees the option to work from home until October, while some companies offered options that were too long. In an announcement earlier this year, Twitter has announced that its employees can continue to “work from home” if they wish. Another social media giant Facebook announced that 50% of its employees can work remotely for the next 5 to 10 years.
Apple, on the other hand, announced that there will be no return at the offices in the USA until the end of the year. The USA is now the country most affected by the epidemic in the world. Out of 16 million cases in total, 1 in 4 is in the USA. Six out of a total of 649 thousand casualties occurred in the USA.
