The Google Pixel 5a, which is expected to be Google’s affordable new phone, remains unclear. The processor of the phone has never been clarified.
Search engine giant Google has entered the phone business in recent years. Google, the owner of Android, was expected to bring a new breath to the industry with its own phones. However, the high price of the Pixel series and the inability to offer innovation against its competitors made Google’s job difficult. Google, who did not want to withdraw from the phone business, then found the solution to focus on the middle segment. In this process, the technology giant is expected to come out with the Google Pixel 5a model in August. However, the phone still remains unclear.
In the spring, it was said that Pixel 5a will come with the Snapdragon 765G chipset in Pixel 4a and Pixel 5. However, sources now say that this phone will be powered by the older processor, the Snapdragon 750G.
Google still undecided about Pixel 5a processor
Snapdragon 750G is produced using 8nm process technology, while Snapdragon 765G is produced with 7nm process. Snapdragon 765G has two 2.2GHz Cortex-A77 cores while Snapdragon 750G has one 2.4GHz Cortex-A76 and one 2.2GHz Cortex-A76. Both have Cortex-A55 running at 1.8 GHz on the other six cores. In other words, there is not a huge performance difference between the two processors in terms of production technology.
Although the Snapdragon 750G is manufactured using an older manufacturing process, it comes with more powerful processor cores. But at the same time Snapdragon 765G performs more energy efficient.
Chinese sources claim that the phone will have 6GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 storage technology. This storage memory is said to have 128 GB. The phone, which is certain to come with a 6.2-inch OLED screen, will have a dual camera setup. This phone, which will come with a 3,840 mAh battery with 20W fast charging support, will come out of the box with Android 12.
