DeFi experienced an explosion of popularity in 2020, which brought attacks on DeFi platforms. In total, 15 DeFi platforms were hacked in these attacks, which amounted to $ 120 million in funds stolen.

According to The Block Research, hackers seized between $ 135,000 and $ 25 million. Only $ 45.6 million was saved.

The protocol, named bZx, made a contract failure in February that allowed the hacker to carry out a flash credit attack of around 1,200 ETH, and had unfortunate incidents twice.

The biggest of these hacker attacks was Lendf.me’s attack of 25 million dollars. A reentry attack vector allowed a hacker to interact with a token contract as if they had many collateral. The attacker subsequently seized all assets on the DeFi platform, but later returned it.
