The operating system that Huawei will release after the Android embargo is coming in April with the HarmonyOs 2.0 version.

According to rumors, the Huawei P50 was supposed to be the company’s first smartphone to have the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system instead of Android, but according to new data this will not happen. All of this is due to the fact that the premiere and release of the P50 has been delayed, but Huawei does not seem to stop replacing Android with HarmonyOS. Therefore, the first lineup of models to receive HarmonyOS 2.0 now seems to have changed. Huawei Mate X2, P40 and Mate 40 series. All will be moving to the proprietary Android exchange in April. At the same time, a new Huawei TV with HarmonyOS 2.0 is expected.

As for other Huawei and Honor smartphones, those receiving EMUI 11 and Magic UI 4.0 will only gradually move to HarmonyOS before the end of the year, depending on the SoCs. The only exception so far is the Honor V40. Some models with EMUI 10.1 and Magic UI 3.1 will be directly transferred to HarmonyOS. The middle stage will be transitioned from EMUI 11 / Magic UI 4.0 format. These smartphones include Huawei nova 7 SE, Honor 30S, Honor X10, Honor 9X and a number of other models. Unfortunately, smartphones in MediaTek SoCs are not included in the current plan for streaming to HarmonyOS.

A few days ago Huawei Technologies secured the right to use the Huawei P60, P70, P80, P90 and P100 trademarks. This shows that the company is very optimistic about the future and will not be able to get rid of the brand that it has built over the years. It is worth remembering that since last year, Huawei has not been able to freely purchase SoCs and other components from American companies. Manufacturers who want to do business with Huawei must obtain a license. However, sending all required components is still not allowed. Therefore, the upcoming Huawei P50 series will use last year’s Kirin 9000 SoC.
