Are you overwhelmed by so many messages? Get less without having to mute or unfollow, just by activating the quality filter.
Released in the summer of 2015 with the intention that the user has more control over what they read and receive on their Timeline, the function of the quality filter on Twitter is an option that when activated, improves according to its creators the quality of the Tweets you see when using a variety of elements to filter them, such as the origin of the account and the behavior of the account or the user who manages it.
How to remove the Twitter quality filter and receive more tweets
By activating this filter, low-quality content such as duplicate or automated Tweets from Bot accounts will not appear in your notifications and other parts of your Twitter experience. This feature does not filter content from people you follow or accounts you have recently interacted with – and depending on their preferences, you can enable or disable this feature in the notification settings.
In fact, it is what we are going to teach you to do, since there are users who have experienced a relative decrease in the messages of their TL since they have it connected, and others who, conversely, receive too many messages by not having it active. For both of us we will tell how it is activated / deactivated.
On Twitter Web
Open a browser, go to Twitter.com and log in with your account. Once logged in and with the timeline ahead, look in the list on the left for the ‘More’ option (under Profile)
With this you will display a list. Click Settings. Upon entering the menu, look at the list on the left and search for Notifications.
When you enter Notifications you will see two different filter options for messages. Here you can connect / disconnect the Quality Filter and then save changes before exiting.
In the Twitter app
Open the app on your Android smartphone or iPhone. Then swipe the screen from the left to the center or click the mini profile photo in the upper left corner to open the options window.
Look for Settings in the list, and when the new screen opens, click on Notifications. Here you will find the option to activate / deactivate the quality filter as you want to reduce the number of messages that will appear in your TL or try to remove the filter and see if it is true that more messages arrive.
